Question: I want to reuse a glass jar or bottle that I purchased food in (for example a jar of pickles that I bought in a store, and now I want to use the jar to store food). Do I have to immerse (tovel) the jar in a mikveh before I use it?

Answer: There are different opinions on this issue. Some poskim require the jar to be immersed, and some don't. Both opinions are viable, given by respected authorities of halacha and your community Rabbi should be consulted.
